A few weeks ago, I stepped into a different world.
For a live Nativity scene, I took on the role of a needle felt maker in a small, reimagined shop. Surrounded by the bustle of the scene, I spent the day teaching teens how to guide the needle and shape the wool. It was a beautiful reminder of why I love what I do – sharing a craft that is as old as time.
At the center of my “shop” was this needle-felted painting of St. Joseph and Baby Jesus.
I received so many kind words that day, especially about the texture of the hair. There is something sacred about working with wool to create such a tender scene. It wasn’t just a project; it was part of the story we were all telling together.
Below is a glimpse into how it came to life.
