Making a Honey and Beeswax Lip Cream

I’ve spent the morning in the studio making a fresh batch of lip cream. It’s a simple combination of beeswax, oil, honey, and glycerin, but the process requires quite a bit of patience.

The video shows the steps I enjoy most: grinding the beeswax, melting it down in a porcelain cup, and then the long process of stirring while it cools (there’s no stopping here, or it would separate again!).

I used to share the exact formula on my old blog years ago, but since I cannot share it anymore due to tightened rules and regulations, I am just sharing the beauty of it.

It’s a slow process, but there is something very satisfying about watching the liquid turn into a thick, smooth cream right in the cup.
